Medical treatments

The medical treatments are offered in the building of the covered bath, the so-called wet treatments on the ground floor, and the dry treatments on the first floor.
•1.       Mud pack
In a special room the previously prepared mud is placed on the designated body part at the required temperature and for the required time, which is then wrapped in a sheet, a foil and a blanket. Areas of application: degenerative locomotor diseases, post-traumatic condition of locomotor organs, chronic gynaecological diseases and certain dermatological cases.
The treatment can be found on the ground floor of the covered bath; the duration of the treatment is 30 or 60 minutes.
•2.       Mud bath
This treatment is offered in a special room, in a special tub, at the required temperature and for the required time. Areas of application: degenerative locomotor diseases, post-traumatic condition of locomotor organs, chronic gynaecological diseases and certain dermatological cases.

•3.       Kneipp alternate temperature bath
By alternating hot and cold water, the treatment aims at improving blood circulation, activating metabolism and strengthening the immune system

•4.       Hand bath
Hand-foot bath: whirlpool bath working with hydroxeur technique. It has a beneficial effect on the circulation and metabolism, while it relaxes the muscles and promotes well-being.

Medical therapeutic massage aims at increasing circulation and relaxing tense, blocked, painful body parts. It restores the skin's elasticity by activating circulation, removes waste matter deposited in the lower layers of the skin and increases the performance of the musculature by activating its circulation.

•7.       Remedial gymnastics
Remedial gymnastics constitutes an organic part of the complex physiotherapy, in the course of which we seek to restore the original performance level with professional exercises, and reach maximum performance level in the course of post-treatments.

Dry remedial gymnastics in group
Neck-shoulders exercises with the help of Therapy-masters and other devices. Spine exercises to improve posture with the use of a fit-ball; hip-lower limb exercises - thighs muscle strengthening exercises; Osteoporosis exercises - therapeutic exercises for patients suffering from decalcification.
The treatment can be found on the first floor of the covered bath; the duration of the treatment is 25 minutes.

Individual remedial gymnastics
A special, customized exercise therapy, in co-operation with the physician, which serves the rehabilitation of the function of the diseased organ or body part, taking into account the patient's psychic, constitutional and age characteristics.

•8.      Underwater jet massage
In the course of the underwater jet massage, as a joint result of the massage and the thermal water, muscle tension decreases and the tension of muscles and degenerated joints gets relieved.

•9.       Weight bath
The weight bath is for the treatment of spine, hip and knee diseases. The patient, suspended at the neck or armpits, is hung into the water which is so deep that their legs do not reach the bottom of the pool and there are weights fixed on their waist or ankles, the aim of which is to pull the vertebrae away from each other and relax the big joints. Its application is recommended in the case of neck, back and waist pain, sciatica, hip stenosis and knee joint degeneration.

•10.   Carbon dioxide bath
The free carbon dioxide gas covers the bathing body's surface in the form of little bubbles and reddens the skin due to its skin stimulating effect. It dilates the capillaries, thereby facilitating their circulation and that of the heart's coronary artery. It has a relaxing effect on the autonomic nervous system, and has a gentle sedative effect in the case of light heart complaints, in post-infarct state, in the case of fatigue and stress-caused complaints. It is recommended in every case when the blood supply of an organ needs to be improved; in the case of diabetes, lack of calcium as a consequence of old age or hormonal causes and for improving and conditioning the function of the autonomic nervous system. It is also excellently complements the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.

•11.    Underwater remedial gymnastics
Underwater remedial gymnastics is done under the supervision of professional practitioners. In the course of the exercises, the weight of the body moving in the water is decreased by the buoyancy force, in this way the exercises do not load the joints therefore they can be done while joint pain is present as well.

•12.    Electrotherapy
The electrotherapeutic treatments include: ultra-sound treatment, magnetotherapy, selective stimulus current, stable voltaic, diadynamic, interference treatments, iontophoresis, TENS.

Ultrasound treatment
It is a micro-massage generated by mechanical vibration which has a thermal and chemical effect. It reduces inflammation, relaxes the muscles, alleviates pain, dilates the veins, and hydrates, heals the skin. With its help, medicinal active agents can be introduced into the deeper layers (creams, gels, solutions). It is efficient in the case of the neck's and shoulder muscles' tightness, degenerative joint diseases and spinal small joint pains. The traditional ultra-sound treatment is suitable for the healing of almost all locomotor diseases.

Magnetotherapy
The magnetic field affects the ion transportation within the cells, improves the oxygen supply of the cells and dilates the capillaries. Due to the quickening of ion wandering, waste matters are secreted faster, the inflammatory process and the accompanying pain are decreased. Areas of application: stiffness of the limbs, mild and intermediate muscle weakness, incontinence, pain syndrome, lumbago, ischialgia, migraine, after stroke condition, intercostals neuralgia, post-amputation phantom pains. It has a beneficial effect also on the rehabilitation of sports injuries. Its application is not recommended: in the case of built-in pacemaker, fever, pregnancy, hyperthyroidism, gastrorrhagia and enterorrhagia and juvenile diabetes.

Selective-stimulus current treatment
For the treatment of paralysed muscular tissues. It is applied in the case of trauma-caused muscle weakness and muscular atrophy caused by chronic joint degeneration.

Stable voltaic current treatment
It can be applied in both descending and ascending current forms. It has a beneficial effect in the case of neuritis and neuralgic pain radiating into the lower and upper limbs.

Diadynamic, interference treatments
It is an anti-inflammatory, pain relieving treatment, in the course of which different forms of current and current impulses of well-regulated strength and length of time are used. It is excellent for the treatment of chronic pain syndromes, muscle tightness and certain types of neuralgias. It is mainly used to relieve pain and to mildly activate circulation. The intermediate-frequency interference current has a deeper effect. Besides pain relief and muscle exercise, it is used for the treatment of joint lumps and the dissolution of local oedemas.

Iontophoresis
In the course of this treatment different drugs and medicinal materials (Diclac, Lidocain, Hidrocortyzon, Flector, Dionin) are introduced through the skin into the damaged, sick body parts with the help of voltaic current. It serves to reduce muscle pain, overstrain, joint inflammations and it quickens the dissolution of haematomas and softens scars.

TENS
It is a muscle and nerve stimulator, the application of which is recommended in the case of chronic joint pain, muscle pain, osteoporosis, sciatica, neuralgia, muscle strengthening, muscle relaxing and to hasten regeneration.

Cures
The spa has been selling cure packages since 1994 - mainly through hotels. The cures are of different durations; which can take 1, 2 and 3 weeks. The cure packages include an admission ticket to the bath, an examination by a physician (check-up) and medical treatments recommended by the physician, which can be offered in the spa, meaning 1 or 2 treatments per day. The cures are realised on the basis of prescheduled treatments on the day of entering the spa.
